Od nastanka prvih pokretnih slika do danas sa usavršavanjem filmske tehnike ova se umetnost sve brze razvijala, od nemog do zvučnog filma, od crno-belog do filma u boji. Film je totalna umetnost koja omogućava svom tvorcu da pokretnim slikama i zvucima, kao što su govor, muzika i šum, u potpunosti izrazi ideje, osećanja i pogled na svet.



Sajt koji predstavlja najveću filmsku bazu podataka na internetu, nadaleko poznati http://www.imdb.com (The Internet Movie Database), objavio je listu 250 najboljih filmova svih vremena, kreiranu na osnovu ocena registrovanih korisnika i određenih matematičkih proračuna...

Listu čine filmovi velikog žanrovskog dijapazona, među kojima su i animirani crtani filmovi, kao i japanske anime, počev od onih daleko poznatih koji su pobrali nagrade na raznim festivalima, pa do onih za koje možda nikada u životu niste čuli. Pored toga, na spisku možete zateći dela sedme umetnosti koja su snimana u različitim vremenskim periodima i raznim državama, sa poznatim i manje poznatim glumcima, režiserima i scenaristima.

Preovlađuju filmovi starije generacije, ali ne potcenjujte ih, možete se prijatno iznenaditi.
